CURRICULUM VITAE

Kamuran Özlem Sarnıç was born in Eskişehir, 1974. She she has completed her high school education at EAL. She started studying Ceramic at Faculty of Fine Arts, Anadolu University where she graduated in 1997. She worked as a customer manager at Biz&Edip ceramic Co. until 1999. Afterwards she began to work as a Lecturer at Dumlupınar University, Department of Ceramics in the same year. She received her Master of Arts (MA) degree with a focus in Ceramic from the Institute of Social Sciences at Anadolu University with the thesis of “ Sgraffito Decorations in Ceramic Art” in 2004. She took her PhD degree from the same university Sufficiency in Arts Program at Institute of Fine Arts Division of Ceramic in 2011 on the subject of “Optical Illusion and Usage In Ceramıc Art-Implementations”. She currently works as a PhD Lecturer in the Department of Ceramics and Glass in Faculty of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University.

She is adding modern techniques to the traditional ceramic forms and bodies in her approach to say her thoughts. In this approach she wants to make illusionary effects on her audiences’ perceptions by using possibilities of the ceramic materials. She has four solo exhibitions. She has participated in lots of national and international exhibitions, symposiums and other art events. Her works are exhibited in various museums and collections.
